I need your help!! My laburnum tree seems to have some pests eating the trunk. I don’t know What pest it could be, or how to treat it. Would anyone out there know?
It seems to be the right side that is most affected. There is fine dust in a now hollowed-out section going from the base of the trunk almost halfway up.
I would really like to save it if possible. It provides much-needed shade for the kids to play in the garden during summer. It also looks great when in bloom.
At the end of last year we had our Apple tree trimmed as it was long overdue. So this summer, there is hardly any shade from it.
It’s not woodworm is it? That’s a total guess but I know Laburnums are susceptible to it. Whatever it is, be careful it doesn’t migrate to your house!
