Fluffy white clouds and blue skies. A beautiful spring day leads me and my boys to the high street market where six Gerberas were bought and planted onto the back terrace.
I hope that as my row of daffodils finish for the year, these guys will take over.
The crocus and snow drops have finished flowering and now it’s the time for ‘Glory of the Snow’.
My clematis are growing longer and so I’m starting to support the individual stems so they don’t go crazy messy.
The purple broccoli have started to shoot! Absolutely nothing else which has been planted this year has shooted yet. I guess this is the downside of planting straight out into the garden- there is no head-start you get from the warmth of greenhouses or polytunnels.
In a short space of time this spring there is already a real sense of ‘the old going and the new coming’. There is a build up of work each week as more plants continue to grow.
